Photo Illustration Preview
My favorite illustration that uses a photograph is the one that talks about the business men and their charity work. The hand was used to descirbe that they were volunteering and the tie showed that they were businessmen. I think that it was made with software by using a few basic effects.

Action Photography
The easiest way to shoot action is to think about zone focus, where you focus on an area where you know there will be action. If you use zone focus then you have to make sure that the shutter speed is fast enough to freeze action.
If you have to use a slow shutter speed then you will have to pan, where you follow the subject with camera. If not then you have to wait for the pause which is when you watch for a games natural pauses to take a photo of.

Portfolios
Sam Adams
Sports
Not a lot of action, bad tilts, some boring photos
Good lighting, good composition
I thought it was pretty good except for a few boring shots.
Nick Adams
PhotoJ
Some bad focus, some bad lighting, boring photos
Good action, good tight shots
I thought that there were some boring photos in there.
Carlos Delgado
PhotoJ
Bad backgrounds, bad levels, bad focus
Good lighting, good angles
It was an okay portflio, but the story wasn't told well
Justin Mott
PhotoJ
Too much selective focus, some boring photos, some photos are difficult to understand
Good lighting, good composition
I really liked alot of the photos.
Winner
They enjoyed the action and composition in every photo. I see the same strenghts and the only weakness was an overuse of photoshop.
Contest Recap
They looked at the portfolios they liked and decided which one was best.

I like the photo of Michael Jordan because of the simplicity of it. The lighting is done very well, especially the overhead light that creates the shadow. The exposure is obviously very quick since it captures him in mid-air without any blur. I also like that since he is the only subject he is right in the middle of the frame.

Fashion Ethics
1. The changes I could cath were some color altering, stretching her neck and widening her eyes.
2. I don't think that it's okay to change a persons appearence as much as they did, they changed her physical composition.
3. With changes this drastic, I don't think that the situation never matters, this is always wrong.
4. Since so much makeup was already applied to her the photo was already fake, so in this situaton I don't think it mattered.
5. Photojournalism is capturing a real situation and fashion photography is trying to create the best looking photograph possibe, no matter how many shots or changes it takes to get there.
